Children are the most important part of our life. They are hope and support for senior citizens; they are future of our society and country. Every child deserves happy childhood to remember it with warm in one’s future life. Children from the large families deserve happiness as any other children. They have big dreams, but their parents often are not able to fulfill them.
Many parents work hard but cannot provide their children with the required clothes or school supplies. And different toys, furniture of good quality and other necessary things remain unachievable dream. There are many reasons of this sad situation: imperfection of law, society indifference etc. Besides, many families had to escape from war and start from point zero.
Benefits for large families
There are few stereotypes, formed in the society, about large families. One of them is that these families don’t live in need because government takes care of such families and gives them different benefits. But one can read Childhood protection Act, correspond it with current economic situation and understand - this help is not enough at all.
Due to the crisis in Ukraine, there no chance to implement new benefits for the large families in 2015. Besides the legislative acts are not realized very often. For example, children from the large families have right for free pass and health promotion, but they often face indifference and even sneering attitude from people, responsible for these services. And it is often the case when parents can’t help their children get guarnteed benefits from the government.
Family allowance
Even the parents who have one child, complain they have not sufficient funds to provide their child with the required things and needs. One can imagine if the family has 7 children. Single mothers, who have to take care of the children alone, are in toughest situation. Besides sometimes there is a sick child in the large families. And of course, the parents have to deny themselves and other children every necessary to buy expensive drugs for a sick child or pay for a costly treatment.
Income dependence
What allowance does large family have? It depends on how many income of a family less than guaranteed minimum. This minimum is 255 hryvnias 55 kopeks for employable persons and 949 hryvnias – for handicapped people. An amount of children’s guaranteed minimum varies depending on age, increasing in case if a child is raised by single parent, or if one of the parents or both parents are handicapped persons.
Monthly family allowance in Ukraine is paid in the amount of a difference between the abovementioned guaranteed minimum and family income.
Taking into account increasing prices for food, public facilities and drugs it is obvious that this help from government is not enough. The hardest situation is for single parents, and for those who have 10 and more children. But luckily not only government renders assistance to such families but unindifferent persons as well.

Large families in Ukraine.
Every family has its own family – difficult, complicated, sometimes sad, but still beautiful history. Because every time you see the pictures you see faces irradiating warm and sincerity. Love, goodness and mutual help prevail in such families. Parents and their kids got used to support each other and don’t count on assistance from other people. Our Fund, with your help, will make child dreams come true trying to return children belief that society takes care of them.
Some children dream of goalkeeper gloves or a ball, some – of baby carriage for a favorite doll, some kids dream about a remote controlled car. There is one child who likes drawing and dreams about art school, but the parents cannot afford buying easel and canvases.
Other child saves money given for a school lunch to buy dancing slippers and dress. Children of forced migrants remember their skates and bikes, left in the occupied towns. Now these little things – are impermissible luxury for their parent but you can change it right now.
Large families benefits in Ukraine remain at minimum level in 2015 and children and their parents face tough challenges every day. Your contribution helps them hope for better future.
