Day care center «Stephania»

Day care center “Stephania” is a biggest project in Europe aimed at rendering assistance to poor and homeless persons.

600 people come to the Center for help every day. They can have meal here, get hair cut, receive new clothes and ask for first medical aid.

These are not all the services our Fund provides We provide more than 80 000 services for the poor each month

The Center is situated on the left bank of Kyiv near Leningradskaya square. The territory is about 2 hectares. Anyone who faced grief, can come to our Fund. The only taboo in our Fund – is alcohol. We don’t let drunken persons in. Center’s working hours: 08.00 a.m. – 08.00 p.m.

Homeless persons can store their stuff in the checkingroom. There is also comfortable park where people can have rest, read, and feel completely safe. Besides, we have sports ground and play ground.

Every persons coming to the Center, must undergo medical examination, and receive medical aid, if needed.

The homeless can take a meal, get hair cut, take a shower. Dirty clothes can be given to a laundry or changed to the new ones. There is also a shoe-repair shop and a tailor shop.

There is a conference room where homeless persons sing in karaoke or watch movies. In winter period this room is turned into a warming point.

If a homeless person wants to change one’s life for the better he (she) can come to the Personality Rehabilitation Center,

where re- socialization actions are taken.

The Fund has been functioning for more than 17 years, and the expenses for Center’s activity are rising along with increasing number of people, who come to us for help.

The Fund directs more than 500 000 hryvnias on the needs of homeless persons. But this amount allows covering basic needs of the poor only.

We will appreciate any financial assistance for our Fund, aimed at saving people’s lives.
